Hotel La Scaletta Florence

This hotel is AMAZING! It’s a 7 minute walk from the Duomo & close to all the best shopping and restaurants. It is super clean and very chic! The staff will clean your room and deliver fresh towels at any time. They have a stocked fridge with cold waters which is perfect for all my late night water drinkers. They staff will also hold your luggage if you have any plans in Florence after check out. Super nice! They all speak English if that’s something you are in need of as well.

Highly recommend you stay here during your visit to Florence. Centrally located. Perfect walking distance to plenty of tasty restaurants, gelato, and sights. The concierge service helped arrange a few meals for us in advance. They also helped us schedule a last minute haircut. Very professional, kind staff. Comfortable and large room to accommodate a family of four.

Rooms are run down and walls were dirty. Understandable considering the age of the building I guess but keep in mind it looks way better on the pictures they posted. I felt like we got into a dungeon when the concierge took us to our room. Only reason for 3 stars is the breakfast, good service and location. Thats where the hotel shines. Breakfast is well worth the money the staff up there is great and friendly. Location is pretty much heart of Florence and you will be within walking distance wherever you decide to go. Overall it was an okay stay but if the rooms are your priority skip this one there are much better options for about the same price.

Giving this hotel 3 stars total based off of location and rooftop view being the best part. There was very loud construction above us early in the morning on our last day, which we were not told in advance. The room was honestly very strange and we saw small ants in our bed/in bathroom often. We would probably not come back in the future.

The rooms looked nothing like the pictures, they were tiny and the walls looked really really gross. I asked to upgrade the room, hoping it was only because we got the base room, and the hotel said it was not possible because they were fully booked. When we told booking.com we weren't happy with the room they were extremely helpful and contacted the hotel for us. The receptionist at the hotel was upset with me that we contacted booking.com for some reason. She told us we were wrong, and was taking the complaint very personally, and she was very rude to us. She then was told to offer us a new room, she said we needed to hurry. Once we rushed to pack and went to the new room she told us it was no longer available. We told her we were going to leave a bad review and she said "I don't care" she also said it was not her fault, it was our fault. We've never been treated that way by hotel staff before. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and gave us a new room and a free breakfast. The new room was better but still dirty on the walls and in the bathroom. The manager also did make excuses for the receptionist which made me feel like she didn't take seriously how rude the receptionist was. However, we did still feel that the manager and the rest of the staff was really nice. In all, we wish we didn't stay there.
